Driver advice

Buckmore Park is one of the few circuits in the UK licensed by the Motor Sports Association to international standards and therefore the quality of the circuit is the highest available. Those of you that have done indoor karting before will find outdoor karting such a thrill you won't go back indoors!

The Karts

The new fleet of Thunderkarts have been specifically designed for use in Endurance events at Buckmore Park. Capable of speeds approaching 80mph, they feature a 390cc Honda engine. With crisp handling characteristics and provide an excellent driving challenge for the regular and novice driver.

Team requirements

We suggest the following are part of your race day luggage.

A pit board to let your driver know when it's time to come in for a driver change
Soft shoes, preferably trainers
A change of clothes should it rain
Fold away chairs to sit on

Driver information

The event is a 6 hour race and anything can happen. The race will not be won on the first corner of the first lap, or by the driver who posts the fastest lap! Endurance racing is a TEAM event, planning refuelling and putting your drivers out on track and keeping them there. Plan pit signals and be ready to make swift and efficient pit stops for driver changes.

Additional novice driver information

If you are a novice driver (one who has very little experience or never karted) you won't win. No seriously, if you are a novice we will supply novice bibs to wear so the experienced Jenson Button wannabees will know to give you some space as they fly past! This adds to the safety of both you and other drivers. The karts are easy to drive left foot to brake and right foot to go. Don't do both at once and always brake in a straight line.
